Welcome back Saints and now let us continue our Closer Look at what our Lord and Savior declares to the Apostles concerning his Second Coming and those events and time indicators that would occur prior to his return.  Here in Matthew 24:6 we have our Lord continuing his conversation with the Apostles as to events that will take place prior to his return, Note;

  1. As stated earlier in defining some rules of study that we must take into account, one of which is paying attention to the personal pronouns that our Lord uses in making his declarations to his Apostles, this is very critical for far too long we have Amend in the congregations of Christ to that which is false teaching, by allowing all who believe in a future coming of Christ declare that the word of God is speaking to the Church through all eternity.  Saints I would like you to go back starting with Matthew 24:1 and circle or mark in your bible all the personal pronouns in Chapter 24; this should only take a few minutes.  After completing that exercise I would like you to then go back and re-read the entire Chapter keeping in mind the personal pronouns used by our Lord.

  1. Now that you have completed that exercise I would like for you to find within Chapter 24 one single indication that Christ as recorded by Matthew in the Sermon on the Mount gives his Apostles the idea that what he was preaching and prophesying was to be for the Church throughout all eternity.  YOU! Will Not produce such a clause or inclination of such an idea, and neither can any Teacher, Minister or Theologian produce such an idea from this recorded teaching of Christ, without distorting passages in the Bible to try and make what is recorded align with the idea of an eternal message to the Church leading up to the return of Christ.  As we continue to take a closer look at the Word of God our eyes will be opened to much more than that in which I am proposing here.  Once again the only way to make Christ words to be for the Church eternal, is to distort passages of the Bible, but let us digress for a moment in order for me to try and hammer home this point.

Open up your Bible to Daniel 12:1 this is a very critical Time Indicator as to the Coming of our Lord and all that is to be fulfilled in the divine plan of God for the salvation and deliverance of his Children.  We will at a further date God willing do an intensive study of not only Daniel but all of the Prophets, but for now please try and perceive this example of how God has communicated his will to us throughout History and has also set a date for the completion of his (GOD’s) divine Plan.

Note;

(a) All those who are futurists try and make what is recorded in Matthew 24 speak to the Church eternal, which is absurd on many levels but for your consideration I would like to point out a couple of facts here in Daniel as to the target audience throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament alike.

(b). The Lord gave Daniel a vision concerning Jerusalem, Daniel 9:2, this vision is concerned with and concentrated on a regenerate people who have over the History of their relationship with God rejected the commandments of God and had fallen into a state of depravity by assimilating with the other People who were dwelling in the promised land.  The whole stage for the condition of the people and what would befall them is amazingly recorded in Deuteronomy in the 28th Chapter; a study of Deuteronomy gives us a better understanding of what was commanded of the Nation of Israel before they were to enter the Promised Land (much more on this later God willing).  We must come to the proper understanding that the 70 week paradigm described in Daniel is the very thing that Christ and the Apostles of Christ are reiterating throughout all of the New Testament Epistles (letters), what was foretold in Daniel was being fulfilled and would be fully accomplished in the first century Church coming to its consummation in A.D. 70 with the destruction of the Temple and the inauguration of the Church of Christ fully adorned for her Husband.

(c). Daniel 9:24 70 weeks are determined (critical time indicator) this is the most critical time indicator for the completion of all of Gods appointed plan of salvation for his Children to be fulfilled which included not only the Parousia but also other events that were to happen to consummate the Kingdom and God’s plan of redemption and reconciliation.  These plans had been appointed a timeline by God, we see one of the references to God’s appointed times in the New Testament, as recorded in; (Act 3:19) RepentG3340 ye therefore, G3767 andG2532 be converted, G1994 that yourG5216 sinsG266 may be blotted out, G1813 whenG3704 the timesG2540 of refreshingG403 shall comeG2064 G302 fromG575 the presenceG4383 of theG3588 Lord; G2962 the highlighted word (times) is in the Greek Kairos G2540 (Strong’s Concordance) it means “appointed time of God” and is used 53 times in the New Testament defined as Gods appointed time, a study of this word will reveal some amazing facts as to the nature and time and event indicators of Christ Parousia (second coming) and the consummation of the Kingdom!

(d). I would like you to take a closer look at another very interesting and highly critical aspect of what is recorded here in Acts 3:19-26. The whole of Chapter Acts 3 when we take a closer look at it that Peter is instructing Israel to repent so they could be converted and that their sins would be blotted out when the time of refreshing came from the presence of Christ.  This is one of many New Testament scriptural references that indicate that the return of Christ was a 1st Century early Christian expectation and that the return of Christ was to be the consummation of the forgiveness of Sin and it would only come from the presence of the Lord.  Did you catch the power of that? No Presence, no blotting out of sin and not to mention refreshing which is the Greek word anapsuxis G403 which means revival without getting too far off track look up the word revival, the first thing that comes to my mind without looking up or getting into an etymology of the word is resurrection from the dead, does this theme sound familiar? (More on this later) but please keep this fact in mind also as we take a closer look at Matthew 24.

 I am going to stop here, and continue our closer look into Matthew and all that our Lord Jesus the Christ has to say would happen before his second coming (Parousia) at our next time together.  As always Saint’s remember it is time for us to Take a Closer Look into what God has left to us through the writings of his inspired Word, be blessed pray for me as I will for you.
